You may have not heard of Buji Baja but you sure have of Hat Attack. Hat Attack was founded by husband and wife team Bill and BJ Gedney in 1981. They saw an opportunity in the market to create a collection of hats that took their cue from the casual lifestyle collections that were newly evolving. A few years later, they launched Buji Baja, an expanded collection of accessories including handbags, belts, cold-weather knits, slippers, and cosmetic cases. The business began in a studio apartment in Manhattan and as it expanded it outgrew each space in NYC. The company is now located in the Bronx where they occupy an 11,000 square foot factory and warehouse, with a showroom still in Manhattan.
Hat Attack and Buji Baja have earned a reputation for delivering two collections each year that are classic but always hit on the season’s trends – they are sold at the best specialty stores world wide! Buji Baja handbags are made of the finest materials, trims, beads and linings. Still a family business, the Gedneys and their employees are dedicated to giving their customers a true collection of exclusive styles each season.
